Plan your local numbers down to the rate center

An area code covers hundreds of towns, and every phone number belongs to one of them: its rate center. Paste your leads' ZIP codes and get the rate centers to buy in, their area codes, and how many numbers each one needs.

No counts at all? You get a coverage plan: the rate centers to hold one or two numbers in.

How the plan is worked out

Where your ZIPs are

Each ZIP is placed at the centre of its Census ZIP code area (2023). A ZIP that is not a ZIP code area, such as a PO box or business ZIP, is listed and left out.

Where numbers belong

Every central-office code in service in the North American Numbering Plan (July 2026), grouped by rate center and placed on the town it serves. A rate center we cannot place on a real town is left out rather than guessed. ZIPs are matched only to rate centers in their own state.

Which rate centers

A rate center that is nearest for at least a full number's load (75 dials a day) keeps its own ZIPs. The rest join the rate center that covers the most of your leads within 10 miles, then within 25, then the nearest one. Each ZIP is served from the nearest rate center chosen.

How many numbers

Dials a day divided by 75, rounded up, at least one per rate center. With leads, dials are leads times the dials per lead you set. A new number starts at about 10 dials a day and earns its way to 75 over about two weeks of dialing.

Distances run from each ZIP's centre to the town's centre, so a ZIP at the edge of a large city can read farther than its homes are. The planner does not know whether numbers are available in a rate center today, or how carriers already rate the numbers you own. On the floor we measured, per-lead local numbers took connects from 80.4% to 90.1% on the same lists; we did not measure a rise in answer rate and do not promise one.
